Adult Bible Study: Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in Classroom 3
The Book of Daniel, led by Steve Leavell.
Join Steve Leavell at 9:45 a.m. for a little fellowship, and then at 10:00 a.m. delve into the book of Daniel, one of the most fascinating and timely books in the Old Testament. Today, we live in an age where it is becoming increasingly difficult to openly follow Jesus, though not to the degree Daniel and his three friends faced. John Walton, a prominent Old Testament scholar, summarized Daniel as follows:
"The purpose of the book of Daniel concerns the sovereignty of God. As Daniel and his friends trust the Lord, God shows Himself able to protect and deliver. Daniel's visions proclaim God's sovereignty over kings, nations, and empires. At the same time, his prophesies tell the people of Israel that the kingdom they were waiting for would be longer in coming than expected. In the meantime, they were to live out their faith in the midst of an unbelieving world, trusting in God for deliverance and protection."
If you attend the 11:00 a.m. worship service, come an hour early and be part of this fantastic study.

Acts: The Prequel, led by Pastor Bill Davis and Kevin Marks
Before our intensive study of the book of Acts, which will begin in January 2024. we need to look at what led up to the events described in that pivotal book. The Bible is silent concerning a time period of approximately 400 years between the last Old Testament book and the writing of the first gospel, but God was still active in the world and Israel.
Join Pastor Bill Davis and Kevin Marks for Acts: The Prequel. This short, 10-week class will look into the history and culture of Israel as they struggled to maintain their identity and worship of the one, true God. Understanding the Greco-Roman culture that surrounded and captured the people of Israel will help us better understand not only the book of Acts, but also the gospels.
In addition to touching on history and culture, we will also learn how we got the New Testament (including English translations) and why we can be assured that it is reliable and accurate.
If you attend the 9:00 a.m. worship service, be sure to grab a cup of coffee after the service, fellowship for a few minutes, and then take part in this informative class.
