A Word From The Elders
May 16, 2020
As the Church, we don’t typically become publicly involved in political issues because our heart and passion are for the gospel. We desire that we would use our influence to draw people to Jesus and not a political ideology.
There are, however, times in which we at The Cross Church feel like it is inappropriate to remain silent. This is one of those moments.
The Comprehensive Sex Ed (CSE), promoted and endorsed by Planned Parenthood, seeks to indoctrinate and sexualize children down as early as Kindergarten. This mandated curriculum teaches sexuality and values that are contrary to Biblical teaching and encourages sexual experimentation, affirms Gender Dysphoria, and same-sex attraction.
The issue of deciding to become involved in this was one that took much prayer, discussion, and counsel, but ultimately arrived in unison from the Elders as we weighed the need to bring wisdom into the conversation and to reflect the testimony of Christ, acknowledging the responsibility we have to protect the most vulnerable among us.
For those reasons, we have embraced the call to sign R-90 which would give individuals the opportunity to vote to repeal bill 5395.
